If you know me, there’s a good chance you know I love pizza. There’s so much good pizza out there. But, if I’m gonna be any sort of decent, I’ve gotta tell ya: there is one place that has the b e s t pizza.
Mozz pizza, here in Provo.
Honestly, Mozz is—literally no hyperbole—like 75% of the reason I may never leave this town. They opened back in 2019, and after the first bite, I was ~ in love ~. So much so that when they started offering take-out during the pandemic shut-downs, I would put in the ‘special instructions’ section “I love you”, or the like. And it was all under Todd’s name haha.
We’ve been very regular diners for a couple of years now, so I thought I ought to hype Mozz up in case anyone hasn’t been (—yet! You have to go.) If you’re a local, you need to check them out asap. And if you’re looking for an amazing place to eat while visiting Provo, this is it. In fact, they are considered one of Yelp’s best 100 restaurants.
Let’s start off with the atmosphere. It’s a nice restaurant. From the teal upholstery, to the unique fabric art, warm wood, and tiles. It feels both upscale, and almost cozy-pub-ish. We eat in with Harry—who is very rambunctious—often, and no matter if it’s just us, or there’s a crowd, we never feel out of place (though that may entirely be because we sort of live there).
Moving on to the most important part: the food. What a menu! When we first started coming in (like Week 1 that they were open), Todd said it definitely looked like ‘Lindsay-food’, and called it hipster pizza. But I am happy to say that he now appreciates it himself, too. The menu changes a bit seasonally, and there’s often delicious specials to try out.
Everything at Mozz is made from the best ingredients. They make basically everything in-house. The mozzarella (hence Mozz); the bread; the sauces. It is pizza—so, cheesy bread—but it might be the healthiest, yet still delicious, pizza you can get. Even after eating an entire pizza yourself (which is what I do. I breastfeed 2 kids, and then I eat a whole pizza solo. They are personal pizzas, geez!), you’re not going to feel that food-coma, bloated sleepiness.
Obviously, the pizzas are amazing. My personal all-time favourite is the asparagus pizza (which is the first one I ever had—it’s straight up Lindsay as a pizza); but the white—with balsamic reduction. Do it!!— is also incredible. When the asparagus pizza came back for the season, I ordered one at, like, 8 pm, and ate it in my closet to hide from the kids. But they found me, so we just all shared it in the closet.
I’ve had most of the special pizzas, as well—recently the fig pizza; and a special mushroom pizza—and both were SO good. Gwendolyn is a big fan of the white pizza, too, which she calls ‘salad pizza’. Her love for it at such a young age is a large point of pride for me. Todd likes the sausage and mushroom, and meat pizzas. We’ve tried just about all of them—if not all—at this point. They even have a pepperoni pizza as of recently, due to popular request, so even boring people can eat at Mozz now. hahah I’m so sorry. Kind of.

There’s also a few sandwiches. We love the Italian. It’s on homemade focaccia, which is *chef’s kiss*; get it with a side salad. Their bruschetta appetizer is yummy, too. In the past, they offered Carolina-style chicken wings, and they were some of the best wings I’ve ever had. Definitely the best Carolina-style. I think we got take out 3 times a week while they were doing that.
And, if you’re looking for the actual best cookie in town (we’ve tried most of them), go to Mozz. Their cookies are delicious.
Can you feel the passion in this post? I’m just trying to help you live your best life. Mozz is not in the Papa John’s price range, but it is worth the price. Do yourself a favor, and get you to Mozz!
Thank me after.
