We recently got our maternity photos back, so I wanted to share them!
With my first pregnancy, I didn’t feel it was important to get nice maternity photos done; I figured I could get a few decent ones. However, I didn’t take great bump shots, and when we decided to do a super amateur shoot ourselves….the results weren’t amazing. We got a couple of okay shots, but, at the time, Todd was 0% instahusband, and I hadn’t spent much time thinking about photo composition either. As a result, most of the pictures didn’t make me feel very good about how I looked, so I knew I wanted to get ‘real’ pictures done this time around.
I was 31 weeks pregnant at when we did these I wanted to have a very defined bump, but not be tooooo bumpy. Having nice pictures taken this time was also important to me for a couple of reasons. My first pregnancy, as you know if you’ve been following this series, was not super positive. Since I’ve been doing a lot to ensure that things have gone differently this time, I wanted to have some really polished photos of me pregnant where I felt I looked beautiful. The photos could be a representation of the mood of the pregnancy. Also, I’ve been working very hard to stay in shape this time, and wanted to be able to have pictures of my hard work through this big physical change. Basically, these photos, taken towards the end of this pregnancy, were a ‘redemption’ of sorts: I can be happy and look nice while pregnant.
Anyway, getting pictures was kind of significant, and I love how they turned out, and here are a few of my favourites!
Gorgeous photos taken by the lovely and talented Kiera Jo.
