Happy Easter everyone! I hope your holiday weekend was fun, and spent with those you care about.
Though it is after-the-fact, I thought I’d share a mini post about what we did Easter Sunday—food-for-thought for next year, or for any gathering you might have coming up.
This Sunday was our week to host soup night, so we hosted a group dinner: we prepared the main course, and dessert, and everyone else brought sides. Of course, me being me, I couldn’t help myself, and made a side I had been eyeing on Pinterest, as well as a starter, because we had ingredients I wanted to use…and I did a cheese appetizer, because we’ve purchased a lot of cheese lately, and I didn’t see us being able to finish it off on our own. Dessert was Easter surprise rolls, and I honestly think they’re the best ones I’ve made myself!
We went for a casual, ‘rustic’ theme, and had a great time with friends!
Despite providing a lot of different dishes, there was no scrambling, which I think indicates that I didn’t go too over-the-top. Here was the line-up
- Cheese appetizer with crakes and jellies
- Bacon, goat cheese (subbed for smoked gouda in half), and sage puffs drizzled with balsamic vinegar after baking
- Delicious roasted chicken (prepared with butter and tons of herbs)
- Roasted parmesan creamed onions
- Friends brought: Salad, rolls, potatoes, and baked macaroni and cheese
- Easter surprise rolls for dessert
