You ever finish a long-time goal? It feels fantastic! In April, I took the Center for Babywearing Studies educator course, and am officially a babywearing trained educator (official certification comes after completing hours)!
After connecting with my local babywearing group over 4 years ago, I felt interested in helping out, but waited about a year to take action. I was a volunteer (the pre-rec for educator in the now-defunct Babywearing International) for just a couple of months before we had to start up our own babywearing nonprofit, and we’ve been working on that the last couple of years.
For anyone who may not know, I have been with Babywearing Utah since the beginning. I am the branding and marketing manager, and manage their social media. I’m also the on the Board of Directors, acting as secretary.
Now, I’m excited to have been able to teach some classes as someone with ~official knowledge~!
This is a super short post—that’s basically it! I’m just proud of myself for getting through the course with a needy baby.
If you’re in Utah and are interested in learning more about babywearing, head over to our website:
We have a lending library ($5 for two weeks), and offer consultations. We do those in-person or via Zoom. There’s several options—from a short 15 minutes; to an hour with our library, showing you all the carriers, and getting 1-on-1 help to find the best carrier for you. We also hold free classes twice a month.
